- The term biology was first used in 1802 by Lamark and Treviranus.
- Term biology was from greek word.
- (Bios- life, logos- Study)
- Study of life.
- Biology is the story of life on earth.
- The science which deals with the study of different aspects of living being like- structure, activities, intraction, evolution etc, is called biology.
- There are two major branch of biology-
- 1. Zoology- study of animals.
- 2. Botany- Study of plants.
